Don’t miss the exciting presentations, poster competition and new post-conference Measures of Success workshop at the Illinois Association for Healthcare Quality (IAHQ) 2019 annual conference, Innovation in Quality and Safety Across the Care Continuum, on Tuesday, May 7-8, at the NIU Naperville Conference Center, 1120 E Diehl Rd, Naperville, IL 60563.

Poster Competition

Be recognized for your contributions to quality and patient safety! Submit an abstract for the 2nd annual IAHQ awards. Proposals are due April 12. 

All participants must be registered for the conference and have a representative onsite to display a poster and participate in the competition.

Format

IAHQ will accommodate traditional posters, storyboards, and tabletop presentations. Posters should be NO larger than 42″ X 90″ (Please notify IAHQ if you have concerns.) To submit a proposal, please send an email with the following information to: info@iahquality.org

  1. Project title
  2. Abstract including problem statement, actions, and results (not to exceed 250 words)
  3. Sponsoring organization
  4. Project team composition
  5. Project lead contact information (name, title, phone number, email)

In this session, Jade Perdue will describe the vision and priorities of Secretary Azar and Administrator Verma. She will articulate current progress and planned national quality improvement work which advances value-based reimbursement, and she will share perspectives on leadership and management approaches that drive sustainable healthcare transformation. Presentation – It’s All About Access: Updates to the Medicare Home Health Benefit

In this session, attendees will learn how to become a 5-star CMS rated hoe health agency, as well as about the 2018/19 changes coming to the Medicare Home Health benefit, how to qualify for the benefit, how it is currently reimbursed, manage care/Medicaid changes, how the care is delivered, how it keeps patients out of the hospital, pre-claim review, how PDGM/ Value Based/Bundled Payments work, IMACT ACT, how results are measured, and what's in store for the future. Presentation – Opioids: Having Local Impact on a National Crisis

In this session, we will learn how Illinois Medicare FFS opioid data compares to National opioid data, identify successes from the field that can be implemented locally to change the trajectory of opioid harm in Illinois, outline key strategies to change opioid related processes, and explore quality measures for different settings to use in opioid quality improvement initiatives.
