IAHQ’s 2018 annual conference is set, and it’s time to register. We look forward to a robust schedule with a wonderful group of presenters and speakers. The conference will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the NIU Naperville Conference Center, 1120 E Diehl Rd, Naperville, IL 60563.

New This Year! Reception and Poster Competition

Following the main daytime conference, IAHQ will have a networking reception and our first QI and patient safety poster competition. Plan to share your QI and patient safety successes from the inpatient, ambulatory, long-term care, and other settings in which you work. There is no need to recreate your poster from scratch unless you want to. You are encouraged to present posters you have used at state, regional or national meetings. Your conference peers will judge the most impactful projects.

So it’s time to submit your poster!

IAHQ will accommodate traditional posters, storyboards, and tabletop presentations. Posters should be NO larger than 42″ X 90″ (Please notify IAHQ if you have concerns.) To submit a proposal, please send an email with the following information to:

  1. Project title
  2. Abstract including problem statement, actions, and results (not to exceed 250 words)
  3. Sponsoring organization
  4. Project team composition
  5. Project lead contact information (name, title, phone number, email)

Presentation – Get with the Guidelines: Advancing heart and stroke care improvement

In this session, you will receive updates on the progress of the Get with The Guidelines for both heart and Stroke. The speakers will share resources and information about exciting regional QI initiatives that are underway and how you and your organization maty become involved to drive better care and outcomes. Presentation – Managing the health of populations

In this session, attendees will learn about the structure of participation in the Medicare Shared Saving Program (the Medicare “MSSP” ACO program), how the AMITA Health ACO approached improving cost efficiency with a focus on: 1. the association between Medicare Annual Wellness visits and clinical quality observed in the AMITA Health ACO; and 2. how the effectiveness of a care management intervention to care for high-risk Medicare beneficiaries is measured. This program has been approved by the National Association for Healthcare Quality for 7.5 continuing education credits. (6 credits for the main conference and 1.5 credits for the poster review and competition.)
